M1 Fine Art Gallery Director Peter McAllister is interviewed live alongside Jerome Senn, the 'man in the painting'.
Following an extensive nationwide campaign which drew in the help of London's National Portrait Gallery, a decades-old mystery has been solved with the tracing of the sitter for one of Hans Schwarz's most revered portraits.
Despite him only passing away in 2003 and with work held in the collections of The National Portrait Gallery, The National Maritime Museum and The Science Museum to name just a few, surprisingly little is known about Austrian artist Hans Schwarz. The tracing of Mr Senn has resulted in valuable information about the artist being captured and cross referenced with existing knowledge to create a much fuller picture of the artist's life.
