M1 Fine Art is thrilled to announce an incredible upcoming solo art exhibition by President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Ian Cryer. With over 100 beautiful paintings on display, ‘Master of Oil’ is the largest ever exhibition of works by Cryer.
Through this sensational display, Cryer demonstrates his mastery of this, the most revered of all mediums within the art world. The extensive collection takes visitors on an exhilarating journey through his preferred subject areas of figurative, still-life, landscape, city-scape and floral and offers an unprecedented insight into the skill and talent of one of the world’s greats.
As President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Ian Cryer holds absolute responsibility for the development and promotion of the medium of oil painting and those artists who excel within its use.
The ROI was founded in 1882 and granted Royal status by King Edward VII in 1909. It is confined to a very limited number of elected members, who each demonstrate the required level of excellence in the field of oil painting. Today the ROI continues to demand the same high standard of excellence set by legendary members of the past, such as Rodin, who showed their work in ROI exhibitions. Its records, beginning in 1882, are held in London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.
Master of Oil runs from February 3rd – March 5th.
Gallery open Mon – Fri 10am-6pm Sat & Sun 9am-7pm.
