Nicholas Verrall

Nicholas Verrell RBA ROI was born in 1945, and studied fine art and printing at the Northampton School of Art. A short period working in picture conservation and restoration followed before demand for his paintings saw Nicholas become a full time artist from 1970.  Success was virtually instant, his first one man show was held at the Upper Grosvenor Gallery in 1971, and it wasn’t long before Nicholas’s skill and talent was recognised by the Royal Academy in multiple exhibitions. His work has also been exhibited regularly by the Royal Society of British Artists since 1978 of which he is an elected member. He is further an elected member of the prestigious Royal Society of Oil Painters.

Nicholas’s work is held in The City of London and Surrey University’s public collections. It is equally valued in the private sphere where he counts George Michael, the late Victoria Wood, Lesley Joseph, Gabby Roslin and others among his clientele. His work has been included in many major art fairs, including the International Arts Fair, Olympia & the 20th Century British Art Fair and has been exhibited widely in the UK, France, Hong Kong, Japan and America. Nicholas’s work will transport you from Norfolk to Prague via Venice and Provence. But such is the utter joy of his work that wherever he takes you, it’s where you want to be.
