Born in Leicestershire and brought up in London, Nick Studied at Camberwell School of Art in the sixties when he was lucky enough to have Christopher Chamberlain, Dick Lee and Michael Rothenstein as tutors to name just a few. He now lives in Rochester where he has a studio opening into the garden.


During his career as an artist Nick has worked for EMI, Rolls Royce, IBM and ICL, has contributed to the Watson-Guptill publication 'Learn to paint and draw' published in 2003 as well as 'Oils and Acrylics' in 2004. His works are in public and private collections in the UK and private collections in the USA, Australia, Germany, Greece, India, and France.


As a member of the London Sketch Club Nick is an active sketcher who says the Camberwell habit of using his sketchbook daily is still maintained. Nick has exhibited with many prestigious society including but not limited to the Royal Society of Oil Painters, The Royal Institute of of Painters in Watercolours, where the New English Art Club where he is an elected member at the Royal Academy of Arts.


Nick was elected a member of The Royal Society of British Artists in 2001 and then later to the position of President in 2017. “It was an incredible honour to be invited to join this historic society and become part of such a long tradition of British artistry that encompasses some of my favourite painters, from Whistler and Walter Sickert through to recent presidents Peter Greenham RA and Colin Hayes RA.”
