Robert Wells

Born and raised in Yorkshire, Robert studied at Batley Art College and worked for several years as an Architectural Illustrator. Feeling the need to push himself further into the arts, he moved to London in 1988 to study for an MA in the Illustration and Rendering of Architectural Spaces at The University of East London and has since worked as a full time artist with a particular interest in the capital and it’s buildings.

Occasionally breaking from his own urban tradition, Robert will sometimes paint scenes of country animals, which sit in stark contrast to his cityscapes. These allow him some much needed temporary relief from the buzz of the capital, enabling him to revisit it with a clear mind and fresh perspective.
