Carole Griffin

Biography

Carole Griffin is an Award Winning Artist and elected Member of the Royal Society of British Artists. Painting in either Oils or Watercolour, Carole specialises in Still Life, but is equally happy painting all subjects.

Working from life, the aim is to bring out the everyday beauty and drama of the manifest world with a touch of the existence behind it. It’s not just about copying the objects in front.

Commissions have come from the peerage in the House of Lords as well as from foreign Royalty.

Recently, Carole was also commissioned by the “Artist and Illustrators” Magazine for an article to demonstrate Still Life Watercolour to show how to maximise the range and strength of colour. As well as this, the “Artist Magazine” commissioned an article to demonstrate how to paint roses in Watercolour.

Carole was awarded the “Dry Red Press Award” and she has also received the “Artist Magazine Award”.

Having been awarded her Degree at the Central, London, she was also selected from across the UK to be awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Travelling Scholarship. This provided many opportunities to work with a variety of professionals across North America, winning numerous “One Show’ Awards in the process.

Carole later taught at the Central as a Visiting Lecturer as well as at Norwich, Salisbury and Harrow Art Colleges.

She is represented by M1 Fine Art as well as exhibiting annually with the Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall Galleries.
