Susie Perring

Biography

Susie Perring studied at the London College of Printmaking before embarking on a career as a graphic designer in the 1960s and 70s. In 1984 Susie became a full-time artist specialising as a printmaker in etchings, both line and aquatint. Currently Susie works almost exclusively in aquatints for the wonderful tonal contrast it achieves. She prints using multiple plates, which gives a velvety texture and deep colours.

When not in her London Studio Susie is often involved in art education and has previously taught at both the London College of Printmaking and as part of an outreach programme for Dulwich Picture Gallery’s Education Department.

As well as being an elected member of the Royal Society of British Artists, Susie Perring is a founding member of Half Moon Printmakers, The London Printmakers and the Southbank Printmakers. She formerly served as Chair of Greenwich Printmakers and on the committee of the Printmakers Council.

In recent years Susie has completed multiple commissions for P&O Liners with complete editions created for four of their ships including the Queen Mary II.

Susie is drawn to quiet places in nature. Sunlit trees; reflections in ponds and deep water; wild creatures and plants; these are her subjects.
