Michael Wallner’s art celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes and colours that define its character. London, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Hong Kong, Paris, Singapore, Miami, and Dubai all feature in his portfolio and alongside those come a devoted clientele of international collectors.

Michael is always on the lookout for the most unusual views and angles for his work. Much of it is created from aerial photographs, taken while hanging out of helicopters to get the perfect shot. These editions are then created by digitally manipulating and painstakingly colouring his own photographs to produce modern works on a variety of materials, including brushed aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, vintage windows, as well as neon, magnets and L.E.D lights.

Prior to his career as a professional artist Michael spent over two decades as a television producer working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. When out of the studio Michael can be found on the hunt for his next big project, whether that’s photographing the Hollywood hills, setting up an exhibition in Singapore or sourcing new materials such as the real running river that features in ‘Go with the Flow’. In 2021 he was a key member of the art collective that launched ARRTI Gallery, an artist-led temporary exhibition space Wandworth’s Southside shopping centre. The project was a great success attracting more than 18,000 visitors.

Michael Wallner is well known internationally due to his involvement at numerous art fair around the globe. In recent years his work has been featured in over fifty exhibitions including The Other Art Fair in London, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago and The Affordable Art Fair in London, Singapore, New York and Milan. Closer to home Michael’s work has been exhibited as part of the ‘A River Runs Through It’ exhibition at the OXO Tower and at the prestigious Mall Galleries.
